As the eldest son of the late philanthropist, Dr. Chan Shu Kui, founder of Chan's Educational Organization in Hong Kong, Mr. Anson Chan continues to dedicate part of his free time to managing and supervising the operations and future strategies of the Organization's schools.

The schools within Chan's Educational Organization include a secondary school and two primary schools: Chan Shu Kui Memorial School, and two Chan's Creative Schools. Together, these schools have over 2,500 students and 200 teaching and non-teaching staff.

Mr. Anson Chan's late mother, Dr. Anita Chan, founded the Chan's Educational Organization and the Dr. Seaker Chan Education Foundation, which operates three schools with nearly 3,000 students and 200 staff. In addition, Dr. Anita Chan actively participated in community services and charity activities. She passed away in 2007.

Dr. Chan's contribution to society earned her a list of honors: she was made a Justice of the Peace in 1983, awarded an MBE in 1990, and was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Social Science by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1997. In 2008, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University dedicated a building to the late Dr. Anita Chan Lai-ling in recognition of her standing long support for education, community services, and the development of the University.
